Fingerprint resampling: A generic method for efficient resampling
In resampling methods, such as bootstrapping or cross validation, a very similar computational problem (usually an optimization procedure) is solved over and over again for a set of very similar data sets. If it is computationally burdensome to solve this computational problem once, the whole resampling method can become unfeasible. However, because the computational problems and data sets are ...
متن کاملEfficient Bootstrap Resampling
Bootstrap principle is briefly reviewed. Hall’s (1989) antithetic variates method for bootstrap is discussed and extended to more than two antithetic resampling processes. We illustrate the theory with a simulation study. The numerical results show that increasing the number of antithetic resampling processes produces significant smaller variances of the bootstrap estimator over the paired case.
متن کاملA Resampling Method for Computer Vision
A resampling procedure based on Efron’s bootstrap method is proposed for the robust estimation of parameters from redundant data. The procedure handles a substantial fraction of outliers, has linear complexity even for superlinear estimation problems, can be applied to any parameter estimation algorithm without modification, and is easily parallelized. The problem of estimating camera motion fr...
متن کاملA Fast Image Resampling Method
This paper proposed a fast resampling method for digital image. Recently, using mobile device is very popular. It is very important to make the images suitable for every different mobile device. There are many methods to change the size of image. The most important methods are image resampling and image retargeting. This paper proposed a fast resampling method. The method is suitable for mobile...
متن کاملResampling Method For UnsupervisedEstimation Of Cluster
We introduce a method for validation of results obtained by clustering analysis of data. The method is based on resampling the available data. A gure of merit that measures the stability of clustering solutions against resampling is introduced. Clusters which are stable against resam-pling give rise to local maxima of this gure of merit. This is presented rst for a one-dimensional data set, for...
